Working as a Senior Social Worker for Reading Borough Council you will be part of a friendly and supporting team. About the Role:
The Advice and Wellbeing Hub take all the new referrals into Adult Social Care 18 years upwards. You will undertake work using the Conversation Counts model, working on prevention and early support.
The role involves working with adults with a broad range of needs including people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, older people and supporting people with substance/alcohol misuse. It also involves providing information, advice and support to Carers.
You will hold a varied caseload and contribute to the team performance and positive outcomes for our residents.
This post offers opportunities to improve your skills and experience within Adult Social Care working with their colleagues in children’s services. You will have the opportunity to improve your skills in high quality, client-led, interventions to young people in their own homes and community, in a friendly and supportive team.
You will work within the legal framework provided by the statute, guidance, policies and procedures.
You will need to have:
- A degree or equivalent in Social Work
- Registration with Social Work England
- Understanding of the Care Act 2014 and the Childrens and Families Act 2014
