We are seeking an experienced planning policy officer to help lead the production of our local plan. Acting as deputy to the new Head of Planning Policy, this new post will help steer the production of the Local Plan and have line management responsibility for a small number of staff. You will take the lead on specific areas of planning policy formulation and possess strong communication skills, policy project management skills, and of course, a broad knowledge of the planning system.
You will be fully supported by the Head of Planning Policy in terms of direct professional support and investment in your own learning and development. In turn, you will provide suitable mentoring, guidance for more junior team members. The role will suit an experienced policy planner seeking to gain leadership and management experience and move to a management role in the longer term.
You will require a relevant degree and membership, or eligibility, for membership of the RTPI.
