SEN Teaching Assistant Specialist Skills (Including Class Cover)

Full Time, Term Time Only: Grade 6 £23 091 - £25 761 (Pro Rata)

The Bridge Short Stay School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who will play a key role in the pastoral and academic support of Secondary aged students who display challenging behaviour. This role will involve supporting individuals and groups both within lessons and delivering withdrawal interventions for targeted students. The role also involves covering lessons in the absence of regular teaching staff.

This post would be primarily based within our provision for KS3 students whose school experience has been impacted by Special Educational Needs or whose needs require further assessment. As such, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work very closely with a small group of students, making a real difference to their lives. It is ideally suited to someone who is able to provide strong support for students with their individual learning needs

The Bridge primarily caters for students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools, we are passionate about providing a second chance for students who have struggled in their education and putting them on a pathway towards future success. The work is challenging and requires someone who can maintain a focus on the best interests of the student while demonstrating flexibility and resilience under pressure. In return the successful candidate would be supported in joining a committed and friendly team with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
