Our team

Our friendly compliance team are looking for a Street Works and Permitting Support Officer (known internally as a Network Regulation Co-ordinator) to provide continuity within the team to ensure the best possible support.

The compliance team is at the very heart of street works and permitting delivery.  You will be undertaking a variety of duties providing support and advice to colleagues and customers, working on projects and tasks to drive improvement and maintain high standards of works taking place across the county.

The role

  • Responsible for the processing and issuing of Section 50 Licences and Section 171 Road Opening Permits, including advising external applicants on all aspects of NRSWA/TMA legislation and ensuring compliance.  
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining electronic permits and notices within the Highways Asset Management System (HAMS) for non Term Maintenance Contract Works, including advising colleagues and external customers on NRSWA/TMA/Permitting legislative requirements.
  • Responsible for the collation and distribution of weekly temporary traffic restriction to the media ensuring accuracy and validity of data.

 

About you 

You will have an eye for detail, possess good IT skills, especially database and map-based software and have a flexible approach to be able to react and adapt on a daily basis.  By developing effective relationships to work within a range of internal and external parties you will regularly represent the views of the council in discussions with contractors and members of the public, so effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Full training will be given to include specialist mapping software.  Please note this is a fixed term opportunity for 16 months.
