This is a new role that has been created within our exciting newly designed Integrated Community Safety, Enforcement and Business Regulation Service. The new service has been formed following a cross cutting review of Enforcement Services and aims to deliver a joined up customer centric service that is both responsive to customer needs and also aims to prevent demand through adopting a strong Intelligence led approach to service delivery.
As a Hackney Enforcement Officer, you will provide a visible uniformed presence across the borough and also be deployed on an area basis to understand and address localised problems, challenging and changing behaviours to contribute to the achievement of the Mayor’s priorities, Council’s corporate objectives. You will be part of a broader and more inclusive service and will be responsible for undertaking enforcement action in line with legislation and Council Policies and Procedures which may include but not be limited to the issuing of formal notices, fixed penalties, cautions and prosecution action.
The post holder will undertake a wide range of enforcement duties in relation to community safety, Anti-Social Behaviour, Licensing (Premises, Alcohol and Highways), street scene and enviro crime including noise abatement, environmental enforcement (Fly tipping, Graffiti, Fly posting, and Littering etc.) and wider general public realm enforcement as required.
You will need a proactive approach, be driven and have excellent communication skills. Further you will be required to successfully pass security vetting through enhanced DBS checks, local police intelligence checks and Metropolitan Police Service Security Clearance at the CTC (Counter-Terrorism Check) level. You must be able to undertake duties working on a shift basis and working in a wide variety of conditions.
