About the role
Are you looking to progress your career in Energy? If so, you may be interested in an exciting opportunity for you to use your skills and experience to help East Sussex County Council to achieve our ambition to reduce our carbon emissions to net zero.
An Energy Efficiency Officer supports the delivery of energy saving and low carbon projects, through effective working with site representatives, contractors and specialist consultants. The role helps to reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions and costs across the whole property portfolio. Use of data analysis and communications will help raise awareness of clients and staff on how they can play their part in reducing energy use and carbon emissions.
Energy Efficiency Officers are involved in the following:
- Helping East Sussex County Council decarbonise their buildings and achieve Net Zero targets
- Using Salix and other funding sources to help deliver carbon reduction and energy saving projects
- Ensuring the council’s compliance with energy related legislation, such as the need for DECs & EPCs
- Analysis of energy consumption data to enable energy & cost savings and good housekeeping for corporate and school sites
- Monitoring performance of renewable energy installations and maintaining Feed in Tariff income from solar PV systems
- Managing siteworks for upgrades, installations and removals of utility meters

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
