An Exciting Opportunity

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community, so it is an exciting time to join us.

Homes for Ukraine is a government funded scheme through which residents can offer to share their homes with Ukrainians, displaced by war. The Homes for Ukraine team administer this scheme and provides support to the hosts and their Ukrainian guests who live in Brent. This job provides an exciting opportunity to work with internal and external partners as well as hosts and guests from across the borough.

Internal processes include overseeing the administration of monthly payments to hosts and one-off subsistence payments to guests, updating our internal database and the Foundry System (DLUHC's central database), and making sure all information is kept up to date.

As part of your role, you will also work with Central Government Officers, partner organisations (including the NHS, and the police) and local community groups. You may also be required to undertake home visits and will work closely with the Community Support Officers to ensure that customer needs are met.

The Person

Our ideal candidate will have a great attention to detail, be organised, and willing to work flexibly.

They will enjoy a challenge and have experience of working in a small but dedicated team. They will have the proven ability to build and maintain successful relationships at all levels.
