Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership is the organisation responsible for agreeing how services and agencies work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in the borough and ensuring that they do so effectively. The three ‘Safeguarding Partners’, the Police, the Local Authority and Health work together with a wide range of organisations to formulate the local arrangements for safeguarding children, in consultation with key stakeholders including children and young people. The aim is to ensure that children and young people are effectively safeguarded from harm and support them to thrive to achieve their best outcomes in life.

About the Role

We're looking for a dynamic Project Officer to join our team that supports the Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership. The postholder will

·         Support the maintenance of action plans, trackers and the risk register and help to resolve barriers to their delivery

·         Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations, including the annual report and quarterly newsletters

·         Assist in performance management and quality assurance, promoting continuous improvement and impact

·         Support a programme of audits in subgroups and annual partnership wide self-assessments to

·         Assist in updates of the BSCP webpage and promote events including National Safeguarding Awareness Week

·         Collaborate with partner agencies to support the effective delivery of partnership working that safeguards children and young people at risk of harm

·         Promote the voice of children and young people through participation work with individuals, youth groups and their families

About You

You will have a have a thorough understanding of the safeguarding environment for children and young people and be passionate about promoting their voices. You will  be educated to level 4 and have excellent verbal, written communication and IT skills. You understand the value of building good relationships and collaborative working. You will have an adaptable skill set and be highly organised with the ability to prioritise conflicting workloads, at times working flexibly on your own initiative.
