This is an exciting time for the London Borough of Redbridge; we are at the heart of regeneration and change in East London, with unprecedented investment in the area expected in the next few years and Cross Rail will open new opportunities for new homes and jobs. We benefit from excellent transport links across London and Essex and our offices, based in Ilford, are only 9 minutes from Stratford and 18 minutes from Liverpool Street, in the heart of the city.
Redbridge Council is committed to the health and wellbeing of its residents through the provision of flexible interventions that allow people to exercise choice in the way their care and support needs are arranged. Direct Payments are available to adults and carers with eligible needs and is a fundamental approach in supporting people to maintain independence and control of their lives.
About the Role
Direct Payments are cash payments made to adults who prefer this method to meet some or all of their eligible care and support needs. It enables the person to take ownership of their own care planning by choosing how and when they receive support instead of Redbridge Council arranging services on their behalf.
Ideally, we are looking for a Manager with experience of working in a Direct Payment Finance Team. Applicants should be able to demonstrate knowledge of financially monitoring Direct Payments service users returns and to deliver a comprehensive range of services.
You will have significant experience in liaising with local authority social workers, other appointed assessors and reviewing officers regarding financial administrative matters including the misuse of funds and surpluses.
Strong communication skills along with using initiative will be required.
Interviews to be held the beginning of October 2018
