In the last five years, the story of the creative industries in Kent and Medway is one of exponential growth. Spearheaded by Margate’s creative revival; Folkestone’s Creative Quarter; the Nesta recognised predominance of the digital sector in Tunbridge Wells and the opportunities presented by the North Kent coast as part of the Thames Estuary Production Corridor, there is much to build on. We are continuing to invest in the infrastructure and people that will drive growth of the sector. South East Creative Cultural Digital Support (SECCADS) will invest in creative talent, product and entrepreneurs.

We are looking for a motivated person or people with a working knowledge of creative businesses and excellent communication skills to drive this new business development programme for the cultural sector.  You will have practical knowledge and be passionate about supporting creative businesses and freelancers to start-up and grow.  Ideal candidates will have an innovative approach to engaging businesses and the skills to support people to develop ideas and their businesses.

You will be the local face and voice of this programme which will see you working with creative businesses, organisations, cultural hubs, creative networks and existing business support services. You will be a natural networker, able to juggle a complex workload and manage multiple stakeholders.

These posts are part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the posts are hosted by Thurrock Council but you will be an agile worker based locally in Kent and Medway and immersing yourself in the creative sector.

We are open to part time & job share arrangements if you are someone who wants the flexibility to still focus on other commitments as well as supporting this new venture.

The South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) works to accelerate growth in the economy. This is part of a portfolio of initiatives to build a more self-sustaining creative and cultural infrastructure in the South East. Led by Thurrock Council, partners have secured European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) to deliver SECCADS.
