Bereavement services has a vacancy for a Crematorium Operative
To work as part of a team to carry out all operational aspects of the cremation and memorial provision from the arrival of the funeral at the crematorium to the disposal and commemoration of cremated remains in accordance with Council and Service policies, standards and procedures, legal requirements, professional codes of practice and quality standards. This includes routine maintenance & improvement of the grounds and facilities, updating internal records and assisting the bereaved and funeral professionals.
You will help us to provide a high quality service to the bereaved and carry out over 3000 cremations each year. You will have the good interpersonal skills and previous experience of helping people in a sensitive situation. In addition to cremation duties, you will carry out chapel attendant duties and the burial of cremated remains. You will also liaise with all funeral professionals and members of the public in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
