Senior Planning Data Analyst (P226)
Charnwood is a vibrant borough, with council offices based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. The borough has a mix of market towns as well as attractive historic villages. Charnwood’s Local Plan is currently under examination by an independent Planning Inspector. The new Local Plan includes significant provision for new housing and land for employment uses to 2037.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivated, and organised individual, looking to work as part of a busy Local Plans Team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and review of the Local Plan by maintaining monitoring systems, provide graphic design support and by carrying out original research, including by use of Geographic Information Systems. The role provides regular support to the wider Planning & Regeneration Service – contributing to the statutory decision-taking process. There will also be opportunities for the post holder to take part in corporate projects.
Who are we looking for?
You will need to be a team player with a positive approach, who seeks out continuous improvement to secure excellent customer service within the Planning & Regeneration Service. You will be a motivated and enthusiastic person, and in return Charnwood Borough Council will provide career support and support you in gaining technical or full Royal Town Planning Institute accreditation. You will have relevant experience of providing technical data analysis supporting plan-making and decision-taking. You will be ICT literate – having the ability to collate and manipulate data across a range of relevant applications – for example, spreadsheets, databases, GIS, development management systems and Government data collection platforms. You also be able to demonstrate your ability to present evidence and data in accessible formats – for example , through MS Word reports.
