From operating waste facilities and registration offices, to maintaining roads and major infrastructure planning, the moment an East Sussex resident steps outside their front door, they are interacting with our work. Within the Highways Department, it’s our role to keep people moving safely and our work touches the lives of virtually all residents and visitors within the county.

Working as part of the Commercial Team, your role as a Compliance Officer will be to carry out compliance activities which will have a real impact in ensuring that the Highways services are being delivered to the quality expected for all our customers.

You will carry out audits and write up your findings making recommendations for improvements. Working collaboratively with our contractor you will help to deliver a great service for the residents of East Sussex. In this role you will be supported by the Principal Compliance Officer and Contract and Commercial Manager who will provide guidance on conducting the compliance activities.

  • Have an analytical approach, with a keen eye for detail
  • Are a collaborative team worker

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
