This post is offered on a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months.
In a policy environment where everything is connected, we need people who can make the links.
You will be working across a wide area, gaining policy experience by supporting the Department of Community and Children’s Service on issues that could include children and young people’s services, adult social care, health and mental health, housing and homelessness. You will be able to look at the big picture and make connections as well as to drill down and analyse the details.
In this role, you will support our Strategy and Performance Team to identify and assess the needs of the City’s communities and residents. It is likely that you will have a policy background and an excellent understanding of the pressures facing local authority services in the UK.
You will provide support in the development, drafting, monitoring and implementation of departmental strategies and policies. An important part of your role will be to analyse and assess the impact of legislation, national guidance and Government policy on the provision of services in the City.
You will bring to this role your experience and knowledge of public policy work as well as excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills. You will have strong research and analysis skills and be well-organised. Experience of initiating, developing and delivering policies and projects is essential.
You will be a good team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills who can convey key information to a wide range of audiences including the public.
If you feel you have the requisite skills, then we'd love to hear from you.
