Here in Barnsley, we’re committed to putting people at the centre of all we do and are changing our model to one which supports excellent adult services. We’re looking for a Team Manager to lead our new Preparation for Adulthood (PFA) team, working with young people to achieve positive outcomes for the future, maintain their independence and live happier, healthier lives. In this role, you will help us develop creative and imaginative solutions as we develop and embed the PFA model into our work. Working closely with the service manager, you will lead the team as we look to develop a clear pathway and offer to promote positive outcomes for young people aged between 14 and 25. What you’ll need:

 

We’re looking for a qualified social worker with strong values which lead your practice, helping young people to achieve the best possible outcomes. Being flexible, creative and a strong communicator are a must to make the most of this unique opportunity. To be shortlisted for an interview, your application should evidence:

 

·An ability to make complex decisions and carry our reflective supervision.

·Experience leading a team, improving and developing the people you work with.

·Experience working closely with others to change and develop their practice.

·An ability to lead on strengths-based practice.

·Experience working with young people with various needs, including Special Educational Needs Disability (SEND)

·Experience producing high-quality reports in collaboration with various agencies.

·An ability to adapt case law and legislation.

·Working knowledge of equal opportunity and anti-oppressive practice.

 

Successful candidates will also understand the legislation and policies surrounding adult and children’s social care, including:  

 

·Education Health Care Plans (EHCP).

·The Care Act.

·The Children’s Act.

·The Human Rights Act.

·The Mental Capacity Act.

·The Mental Health Act.

·Local safeguarding policies.
