Bursting with culture, innovation, energy and opportunity, Waltham Forest is a place people want to live, raise a family, start a business and work. Recovery from the pandemic and the current cost of living crisis means that delivering fantastic local services are more important now than ever. We have risen to new challenges through the adoption of new ways of working and innovation in service delivery, enabling us to continue to make a difference for our residents. The borough is a recent winner of the MJ council of the year award and the housing department continues in this tradition with more recent MJ wins and nominations for the UK Housing Awards, projects lead by this post. We have continued this innovation developing projects with the Marmot Institute and Policy in Practice.
Public service is at the heart of our response to the current situation in the uk, and our housing strategy sets out how we will continue to change our ways of working to become a more modern, efficient, and responsive organisation that builds on the success of recent years.
Housing is central to the councils’ future plans and our priority is to continue to ensure everyone has a decent roof over their head.
