In Waltham Forest we are transforming services through a new operating model across children’s services, adults’ social care and public health which empowers our workforce to recognise themselves as agents of change, working with residents to enable them to find their own solutions and connect into sources of support in their communities. In social care specifically, this means bringing some teams or functions together where it makes sense to do so to provide the best services to our residents.
Our Principal Social Workers have the oversight of professional practice to lead, support and develop excellent social care practitioners to deliver excellent services. The PSWs also leads on quality assuring practice, ensuring that the social care workforce on the highest quality practice through the development of a robust relationship-based practice model.
With both a strategic and operational influence, the Principal Social Worker for Childrens service will be central to practice improvement across the service and for outcomes for children and young people. Principal Social Worker will work in collaboration with the Assistant Director for Quality Assurance in delivering a comprehensive quality assurance framework
Alongside the PSW for Adult social care, jointly lead a small and effective team of practice improvement specialists.
