The Customer Services department currently have a vacancy in the Careline team for an Alarm warden. The vacancy is for a casual member of staff to cover shifts during busy periods as well as cover for sick leave and staff annual leave.
The Careline operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year which includes weekends and bank holidays. The shift patterns are as follows: Day shift 06.50am to 19.10pm, night shift 18.50pm to 07.10am
The role involves answering calls of an emergency nature from vulnerable service users within the borough via a pendant alarm machine. You would be responsible for sourcing the correct course of action to ensure the service users’ needs are met within an agreed time scale.
You would need to liaise with family members/emergency services/in-house departments on a daily basis.
You should possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
You should be a good team player but also have the ability to work on your own initiative with good keyboard skills.
You would need to be flexible and adaptable to change with a positive professional attitude.
As well as taking calls from our vulnerable service users you would also be required to take calls for a variety of other services such as: Social services, Highways, Homeless, Emergency planning etc.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level is required for this role.
