About the role

These are exciting times to be a Planning Lawyer within the Council, given the Council’s continuing priority to deliver high profile regeneration and new build housing projects across the Borough. Work involves attending Regulatory Committee, Planning Sub-Committee and Major Sites Project Management meetings and engage directly with Development Management (DM) officers on a daily basis with regard to Section 106 discussions and legal advice with the aim of facilitating development.

Our legal teams are committed to public service and are called upon to advise on a range of matters whether that is planning permission for the Tottenham Hotspur Football ground, approval for the Wireless Festival or supporting the work of those who provide invaluable support to communities.

We are seeking to recruit new talent to join our existing team of lawyers with roles ranging from trainee solicitor positions for those starting their legal career to those seeking progression to a management role.  We are a Lexcel accredited service offering a competitive salary package, flexible working patterns including hybrid working arrangements, excellent annual leave, supportive supervision and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and Employee Support Scheme.

This is an exciting time to join a committed in-house legal team, which is delivering an efficient and high-quality legal service to enable the council to deliver its corporate priorities including its extensive regeneration programme. We are looking for confident, motivated people with strong communication and influencing skills to be part of our excellent and friendly legal team.

About you

You will be a solicitor, barrister or CILEX, ideally with at least 2 years recent PQE in planning law in the UK who will work with experienced specialist property, planning and regeneration lawyers and a fast paced, dynamic, forward looking client DM team which is seeking to enable development.
