The apprenticeship programme is designed to develop knowledge and skills up to NVQ level 2 or 3.
The Housing team is responsible for all landlord functions for the Council’s housing stock.
You will be dealing with a wide range of enquiries, both in person and via the calls handling telephone system. You will also undertake a variety of general administrative tasks which includes updating and amending information held on the Councils’ computer systems.
You will have (or have been predicted) at least five GCSE’s (or equivalent) grade A-C including English and Mathematics. Excellent IT skills are a must, along with good written and verbal communication skills. The ability to maintain high levels of accuracy is also essential.
The post offers a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable and focused individual, who has good interpersonal skills to gain an insight into housing management from a local government perspective. You will need to be able to think on your feet within a busy office environment and show a willingness to learn in order to develop your administration and interpersonal skills. Able to demonstrate maturity and the ability to work alongside a wide variety of people. You will have the ability to record information accurately and concisely when carrying out general office support and administrative tasks.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the post holder will be appointed to the permanent post of Housing Assistant. The Housing Assistant role is 37 hours a week on Grade 2, SCP 10-18. That is currently £16,881 - £18,870.
The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday and you will be based at Palatine Hall, Lancaster.
