More about the role:

The Finance Department aims to provide an efficient and responsive service to the whole of the council, ensuring that our resources are managed effectively and appropriately and that we also deliver accounting transparency.  Working within Financial Control you will help us deliver our statutory obligations and provide financial order and control to the business.

You will be an enthusiastic individual with good accounting and SAP skill / experience.  You must be able to manage and prioritise a varied workload to strict deadlines, work efficiently and accurately retaining an eye for detail.  A confident and self motivated individual with good communication and interpersonal skills who enjoys working as part of a small team.  You will have a strong customer focus, a flexible approach to both your duties and your working arrangements, a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement and development of our financial processes.  You will support the Finance Manager – Systems in delivering systems and processes that remain robust and fit for purpose and aid decision making, support the implementation and development of new systems, ensure master data within the Council’s core financial system is maintained, up to date and accurate, assit in banking and purchase card administration duties, payroll reconciliations and supporting the team in the timely closure of the financial accounts and provide absence leave cover for colleagues.
