The Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service currently have a vacancy for a qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QTOD)). We will also consider a suitably experienced teacher without the mandatory qualification who has recent classroom teaching experience and is willing to undertake the two year specialist postgraduate qualification.
The successful candidate will need to have a thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and have excellent interpersonal skills, work well within a team and be able to work to deadlines. The role will involve supporting families of CYP (0-25) who have a hearing loss and their schools and settings to promote positive educational and developmental outcomes.
Due to the nature of this role you must be able to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post, for which a mileage allowance will be available. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable. Teachers within the Service may work across more than one of the Berkshire Local Authorities.
