R&B SYSTEMS LEAD OFFICER
Principal Officer Grade 4 (£32,233 per annum)

The Council is looking to recruit an experienced, professional and highly motivated Revenues and Benefits Systems Lead Officer to support the Revenues and Benefits Service IT systems in order to ensure that an effective service is delivered to the residents of the Borough.
The post reports to the Benefits Manager as the role will work predominantly with housing benefit related matters. The post is responsible for system management and administration and will liaise with internal and external IT support. The postholder will support the Benefits Manager in delivering an effective Benefits Service including the completion of the housing benefit subsidy return, the development of system reporting, system security and financial reconciliations. The postholder will ensure robust quality controls are implemented, including subsidy quality control measures. The postholder will work with the Deputy Benefits Manager to maximise the potential of the benefit system functionality and ease of use. The postholder will be the main point of contact for IT support providers and will work with the Revenues Manager in scheduling and implementing any revenues system upgrades or other changes.
The successful candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of the purpose of and functions of a modern revenues and benefits system. You will have excellent communication skills, and the proven ability to effectively manage staff and organise your workload. You must also have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grades A-C in Maths and English, or equivalent; a management qualification at Level 4 is desirable.
The post is offered on a full time basis of 37 hours per week.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information, advice and instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
