QUALITY & APPEALS OFFICER
Scale 5-6 (from £21,074 per annum)

The Council is looking to recruit two experienced and highly motivated Benefit professionals to join our Benefit team and help provide an efficient and effective Benefit service for our customers.
The successful candidates should have previous experience of processing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims as it is essential that you have a thorough knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction legislation and case law. It would be desirable to have experience of the appeals process through to preparing submissions and attending Tribunal hearings on behalf of the Council. You should be an excellent team worker and be able to demonstrate good customer care skills.
Both positions are offered on a full time basis of 37 hours per week, however part time/job share would be considered for the right candidate.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information, advice and instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
