This new role is designed to provide a high level of customer service to support Runnymede’s more vulnerable residents when applying for Council Tax Support and Housing Benefit. The post-holder will also work as part of a team processing the more straight forward applications for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support and ensure applications for Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP’s) have the correct documentary evidence provided to support the claim. The successful applicant will be first point of contact for reception as well as work in the assessment team dealing with enquiries from the public via telephone and email.
The successful applicant would have a flexible and adaptable working style, an ability to learn complex legislation and experience of working with various IT systems. Previous knowledge of Housing Benefits is desirable but not essential. Good numerical reasoning skills, an ability to work under pressure and a willingness to collaborate with innovative working methods are all essential. The post holder would also need to be well-organised, with good IT literacy and customer-relationship management skills. Interested?
