Job Details

Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Contract Type: Full Time - Permanent

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and cohesive Hospital Discharge Team in North Middlesex University Hospital (lead by Enfield Social Care) consisting of Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Care Co coordinators.

Our new discharge initiative “Discharge to Assess” will see Occupational Therapists assessing clients in their own home on the day of discharge. We do recommend equipment and minor adaptations during those visits and make sure that patients are discharged safe and efficiently. Our aim is to ensure residents, families and communities have the right support in place at the right time to enable them to confidently live independently for as long as possible and to remain active and avoid re-admission to hospital.

We are looking for experienced Occupational Therapists that are innovative, motivated and dynamic to join our fast paced Discharge to Assess team of experienced Occupational Therapists. You will use your professional expertise to make a genuine difference to the lives of Enfield residents. Applicants with a strong social care or multi-disciplinary working background are particularly welcome.

The Team is based in the discharge office in North Middlesex University Hospital. The successful applicant will be expected to carry out home visits to assess need, provide a fast and efficient service and attend meetings when required.

Enfield offers excellent training opportunities, regular supervision, flexible working, generous annual leave entitlement and encourages career development.

The standard process is for posts to be advertised on the Councils redeployment and internal site concurrently, however those members of staff that are at risk of redundancy and on the Council’s redeployment register will be considered first.
