The position is to support the Enablement Service in Adult Social Care. The successful candidate will be expected to work one day in the week, every Saturday, Sunday and all Bank Holidays. You will be based at Newham Dockside and Newham General Hospital.
The main objective is to support the Council’s vision and resilience agenda by providing a consistently high quality, cost effective and timely business support service. To ensure that the administrative functions are carried out to a high level of accuracy and to corporate standards. To ensure that continuous cover and support is provided to managers and staff based across council offices.
Business Support Officer's
£22,956 - £24,999 pro rata
21.6 hours a week
You will provide a proactive, knowledgeable business support service to external and internal customers and stakeholders, meeting evolving delivery priorities, issues and challenges to agreed standards defined in the service offer.
3 days per week- Saturday/Sunday (Weekend hours 8am-4pm) and 1 week day which can be flexible - Also to include all Bank Holiday's
Working in the Enablement Team -Adults Business Support Hub - Either based at Newham Dockside or Newham General Hospital
Experience of CM2000 would be an advantage, however not essential as training will be provided.
You will ensure a quality administrative and personal support service is provided to Heads of Service and senior officers and ensuring that staff are trained to maximise the use of the various IT packages available.
You will work as part of the Business Support team to drive an innovative and demand-driven approach to service development, and to ensure that the service is responsive to client needs and achieves efficiency in operation.
You will exercise due consideration to confidential information relating to the Council’s business by ensuring they do not act in a way which may be prejudicial to the Council’s interests. This applies to the general business of the Council and information regarding individuals.
You will work with other team members to learn lessons from success and failure and, as well as participating in performance management exercises and data collection to create measurable improvements in service delivery.
You will have excellent IT skills in a range of systems, a flexible approach and the ability to meet tight deadlines. You will need to demonstrate a professional approach and a strong commitment to customer services.
You will contribute towards the implementation of a working culture that is result-orientated, customer focused and an ethos of 'right first time' service delivery. Undertake all duties with minimum supervision and be responsible for continuous personal development by requesting and attending training where necessary.
You will support the resilience agenda by promoting the council's self serve agenda at every opportunity.
