We require a Parental Outreach Worker to be a part of our dedicated teams in the Children’s Centre to support families with children 0-19yrs, offering universal and targeted support through group work and one to one interventions within the Children’s Centre and through home visits
The post holder will deliver evidence-based parenting skills programmes, child development/health enhancing activities with children and their parents/carers and offer adult learning opportunities. You will hold a caseload, assess needs, plan and deliver family support.
Family outreach services are planned and delivered based on individual needs working in partnership with the parents, internal colleagues and partner agencies to improve the outcomes for families and have a positive impact on their lives.
You must have good time and record keeping skills, and the capacity to adapt to new and challenging environments. It is essential that you have IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel spread sheets, and email. You should also be a lively and engaged team player, willing to get stuck in and, above all, love working with children and young people.
The successful post holders will need to have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in an Early Years related field, and recent experience in working with children and families in their home or a community setting.
