A vacancy has arisen at West London Coroner's Court for a Lead Coroner's Officer. A minimum of 5 years experience as a Coroner's Officer in a Coroner's Court or similar environment is essential for this demanding role.
The ideal candidate will provide high level; expert legal and technical advice and guidance, managerial and administrative support to the Senior Coroner and Assistant Coroners and staff. As Lead Coroner's Officer the candidate will also be responsible for their own caseload including complex and high-profile inquests. As such, a good working knowledge of medical terminology and investigative skills are highly desirable.
The post holder will also manage and train the Local Authority Coroners’ Officers whilst working closely with the local authority’s partners (Metropolitan Police and Senior/Assistant Coroners) to deliver the Council’s overall vision, values, and strategic aims, ensuring that excellent customer service is delivered under the requirements of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009.
