Electoral Services are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible team member to assist with the work of the Electoral Services team. This will include supporting the Democratic and Electoral Services Manager to ensure that the electoral administration process is well managed, open, transparent and accessible to members of the public, as well as maintaining the register of electors.
This post will also include taking a key role in the running of local and national elections, referendums and parish polls as and when required for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.
You will be self-motivated, able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines, pay great attention to detail and demonstrate your considerable IT skills in ensuring efficient processes. We currently use the Xpress Management System so experience of this system would be an advantage. You need to be politically sensitive, tactful and diplomatic, and above all, you will need the drive and commitment to contribute to this service and its development.
You must be prepared to work unsocial hours on occasion, particularly in the run-up to elections and busy registration periods.
Additional benefits for this post include 22 days annual leave (increasing to 27 days after 5 years Local Government service), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme as well as invaluable training opportunities for continuing professional development.
