We are now looking for a number ofexperienced strategy and policy team managers to join our newly createdcorporate service. You will drive forward a significantorganisational and partnership change programme, enabling us to deliver ourvision, continue our improvement journey, and maintain constant focus on whatmatters to our residents. While different posts will be supporting specificDirectorates, we expect our teams to work flexibly in a matrix managementenvironment.

1x Strategy & Policy Manager (Children’s) – Fixed-term contract (twelvemonths maternity cover)
Key Responsibilities
Toensure that the Council is driven by a clear purpose and shared set of priority outcomes
To play a key leadershiprole outside the organisation, including maintaining extensive networks acrosslocal, regional and national organisations, sharing innovation and learning
Toensure that the Council has robust, responsive and effective strategies andpolicies
Todevelop and implement partnership and corporate and departmental business planningprocesses in the area of client directorate related to the role
Toprovide a high degree of support to senior officers, members and partners insolving problems and responding to external frameworks, opportunities, risksand events in the area of the Council’s corporate, health, adult’s and communities orchildren’s services
Requirements
Anexpert understanding of the national and local context for and operations of theclient directorate related to the role
Experienceof coordinating and managing more than one of the following: strategic andbusiness planning, equality, scrutiny, partnership, commissioning, assessment,public consultation and engagement, inspection, improvement and safeguarding.
Analyticalskills and lateral thinking to develop creative and innovative solutions
Excellentoral, written and visual communication skills to engage a range of stakeholders
