The postholder will be required to act as a point of contact for all Members. This will include resolution of Members’ queries and directing Members to appropriate Officers in order to resolve any queries. The role also provides support to the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Council in the discharge of their functions. This will include ensuring that the list of events is up to date. The postholder will also be responsible for overseeing the training programme including an induction programme for new Members following the May 2019 elections.
The postholder will need to have a good knowledge of local government with an understanding of the role of Councillors. The role will involve some element of working in the evenings/weekends when attending various events/meetings.
