Spatial Information Technician
Salary: £ 24,302 to £28,741 pa
36 Hours per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our corporate GIS and LLPG Team. Your role will be to assist the team in delivering the street naming and numbering service and implementing, administrating and developing spatial data, the LLPG and Geographic Information Systems.
You should be educated to GCE A Level or equivalent standard, preferably with a GIS related degree or relevant experience. You should have experience or knowledge of geographical information systems, data and standards, LLPG processes and standards and awareness of property life cycles. An appreciation of data quality issues, cleansing techniques and the street naming and numbering process is also required. You must demonstrate excellent IT skills including proven experience of MS Windows, MS Office/MS Access and preferably experience of using QGIS, Cadcorp GIS, PostGIS and FME software to capture and/or maintain data. As well as being a technically able person we are looking for someone who is well organised, a good communicator and can work effectively both within the Council and with external organisations. It is essential that you are a good team player who is prepared to use your own initiative, manage conflicting priorities and drive projects forward.
