The Policy Officer contributes to the development and implementation of strategic policy framework for partnership working in Blaenau Gwent in line with Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
As Policy Officer you will work in-line with the requirements of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 to support the development and implementation of the governance arrangements for the Blaenau Gwent Public Service Board and Strategic Partnership Framework.
You will support the production of the Well-being Assessment through the identification and use of statistics, research and analysis and make recommendations for key decision makers to shape the future delivery of public services in Blaenau Gwent. You will also support the integration of the 50+ Network into the Blaenau Gwent Strategic Partnership through contribution to the policy and strategy obligations relating to the Strategy for Older People
You will work with partner organisations and businesses associated to the Blaenau Gwent Strategic Partnership to implement strategic reports, policies and effective performance management arrangements.
You will be educated to Degree level or equivalent in a related discipline or subject. Essential experience includes proven experience of working in a relevant field and of utilising robust evidence, such as statistics, research and analysis to influence decision-making. You will also have experience of working across multi-agency partnerships, an ability to demonstrate influence skills in dealing with partnership business and the ability to draft, prepare and implement strategic reports, policies and procedures.
You must possess knowledge of the key issues facing public services in Wales and the impact on policy development and review.
The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
