The successful applicant will play a key role in the Council’s Housing Service. The post is on a full time basis of 37 hours per week.
The postholder will take day-to-day responsibility for supervising the Operations Team which include Housing Options, Income & Debt Recovery, Community Involvement and Reception Services.
The role includes a wide range of activities from assisting with policy implementation, enforcement action to ensuring delivery of effective customer focused services through the team.
The postholder will be a member of the Housing Services Management Group and, as such, contribute to services to the Council’s 2,600 tenants.
We are looking for a resourceful, highly motivated individual who has substantial experience in a social housing organisation or related field and should possess at least 2 A Levels in an academic subject or equivalent. Applicants should also have considerable experience in a supervisory role. An understanding and knowledge of social housing legislation is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with conflict and work under pressure is essential.
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing or working towards corporate membership would be desirable.
The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information, advice and instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
