An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent HR Officer working in our small but busy HR team. This is a challenging role with responsibilities across all aspects of the HR function. You will provide professional HR support across the Council as part of the HR team in relation to all HR responsibilities and in line with the values of the Council and in compliance with Council and HR Policies, statutory obligations and best practice. The post is offered on a full-time basis of 37 hours per week.
The successful applicant will have integrity and approachability and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must have up to date knowledge of UK employment law and its application within the work environment. You must also have experience of working to specific standards and targets and have experience of dealing with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner. You must also have experience of the full recruitment process and of advising managers on a wide range of HR issues.
You should possess qualifications above GCSE level and have evidence of on-going professional updating and development. You must have either a CIPD qualification or in-depth experience working at advisor level within an HR environment.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information and advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
