We are recruiting for a Fostering Senior Social Worker – Connected Carers to function as a highly skilled and experienced practitioner within the Fostering Team, providing day-to-day support and advice to social care staff within the team to ensure that high quality services are delivered.
Applicants will be required to enable and support the delivery of these services in an efficient and effective manner, and to work in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. You will assist the Team Manager in service development, Safeguarding procedures, and professional supervision and in certain aspects of management.
You will take responsibility for a caseload of complex cases. As well as setting the standard for colleagues to follow, you will supervise the work of other members of the team and actively coach, mentor and develop them.
You will provide regular reflective and case management supervision to social workers in the team.
Applicants will be expected to quality assure documents to ensure they are ready for Court, Fostering Panel or other forums.
You will be expected to work to stringent deadlines, and to support those you supervise to also meet these.
You will represent the Connected Carers team at Legal Gateway and any other panels as required.
You will be required to attend Court for your own cases and may be required to support social workers from the team in their attendance if needed.
The post holder must be conversant in all areas of the Skills and Competency (Capabilities) framework for all social work staff, including their own post, in order to develop a competent and professional work force.
Senior Social Workers are required to adhere to, and uphold, the codes of conduct set out by Medway Council and the HCPC.

A recognised professional Social Work Qualification eg Degree in social work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent, recognised by the HCPC
Hold a Full Practice Educator qualification, or demonstrate willingness to achieve this
Recognised post-qualification awards or training in Social Work
