About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Head of Sales & Marketing within Commercial Services for a 12 month period to cover an internal secondment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the capture, development and delivery of winning proposals and bids within agreed budgets.

You will bring your expertise and extensive knowledge in bid documentation, competitive tendering and marketing within the food service industry.

You will have a passion and drive to promote excellent food and service to young people attending Surrey Schools and beyond and lead on the planning of promotional campaigns and activities to generate increased revenue and assist building a commercial culture and growth.

You will contribute to a ‘joined up’ approach to the development and retention of our existing client base and securing new business opportunities.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Services and working closely with the Senior Management Team, this is an opportunity to be part of the business to support the commercial function.

  • Understanding and experience of bid documentation and its formal bid structures (PQQ & ITT)
  • Proven and successful track record in sales and marketing
  • Evidence of building a pipeline of sales opportunities leading to successful contract awards
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Knowledge of food and customer service

Commercial Services has three divisions – Education Catering, Civic Catering and a schools equipment maintenance service and together employs circa 1,300 staff working in approximately 500 locations across Surrey.
