Runnymede Borough Council is looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic and caring individual to join its Community Services Team as Mobile Independent Retirement Living Managers.

The Council operates five Independent Retirement Living schemes across the Borough, each of which offers secure, comfortable self-contained accommodation designed with the needs of older residents in mind.

Working within a team of seven other Independent Retirement Living Managers and supported by a Senior Manager, you will provide support by carrying out a variety of duties of the IRL Managers in their absence, be responsible for ensuring that each scheme offers a safe and secure environment, providing support, advice and assistance and promoting choice to enable residents to continue to live independently within their local community.

You will need to have experience of working with older people and a sound understanding of issues that may affect older people. Experience of having worked within an Independent Retirement Living or Sheltered Housing environment is desirable but is not essential.

You must be confident and organised, able to work on your own initiative, with flexibility. You need to be able to keep calm under pressure and respond with empathy and diplomacy where required.

You will possess excellent communication skills to allow you to liaise with a range of people including residents, relatives, health and social care professionals and other stakeholders on a regular basis.

You must also be able to work effectively as a team and have a good standard of literacy and numeracy together with the ability to use a computer, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.

This role will require you to form part of the out of hours on call rota for overnight, weekends and some bank holidays for our Independent Retirement Living Schemes. An allowance and overtime is paid for this.

If you are a committed, self-motivated person with a desire to support Runnymede Borough Council in providing valuable services to our residents, we would be keen to hear from you.
