About the role
Southover CE Primary School is a happy, vibrant school in the heart of Lewes. We are proud of our lovely children, dedicated staff and inclusive ethos.
We have a vacancy for a teaching assistant to join our supportive team. The successful applicant will be based in a Year 1 & 2 class 5 mornings a week, supporting the children with their core learning. In the afternoons, you will be working with individuals and small groups, predominantly supporting speech and language development.
The successful applicant will have TA experience (TA2/3) and the commitment and enthusiasm to support the children with their learning and work closely with the class teacher. You will ideally have some knowledge and understanding of speech and language needs but this is not essential. A good standard of maths and English is required as well as being computer literate. You will be able to work as part of a team, take instruction from the class teacher and work autonomously when required. The role involves working with children with differing needs, including special educational needs and disabilities.

The role is 30 hours a week, Monday-Friday, (full school day), term time only. This role is paid on point 7 of the Single Status Pay Scale (pay award pending).
