About the role

Glenleigh Park Primary Academy is looking for a leader to take up the role of Deputy Headteacher

We are looking for a talented school leader to join our staff team and play a key role in ensuring that Glenleigh Park continues to provide high quality education, support and care for all our pupils and their families. Start date ideally January 2023, but could be negotiated for the right candidate.

Glenleigh Park is a two form entry school with a purpose built nursery which welcomes children aged two and over. Our large modern building, with extensive grounds, provides a fantastic learning environment. The staff team are committed, enthusiastic and hard working. They are keen for the Deputy Headteacher to share these values and provide them with strong and clear leadership. You will be working with a team of friendly, dedicated and hard-working staff. We are all driven by a real desire to change children‘s lives for the better and to help them to reach their full potential. We hope this is what drives you too. Our school is a happy and inclusive place where everyone is valued and encouraged to excel.

We use the Read, Write Inc. phonics (RWI) program from a child’s first term in reception. We believe that children’s growth as a reader is key to helping them fully access learning into KS2 and beyond. With this in mind our ambitious aim is for all children to have completed the RWI program in year 2.

We build on this strong start to reading by working in partnership with Hackney Learning Trust to deliver Daily Supported Reader for all pupils in KS1 and Destination Reader in KS2 as we believe it is vital that our children are instilled with a passion for reading and a strong desire to read for pleasure.
We are seeking to appoint an energetic, innovative leader to join our friendly and forward-thinking team.  This role provides the opportunity for the successful candidate to further develop their leadership skills and benefit from high quality professional development both in school and provided by Aurora Academies Trust. The role of Deputy Headteacher is to play a key role in the senior leadership team of the school. The post holder will deputise for the Headteacher when necessary. Proactively contribute to the excellent leadership team at Glenleigh Park Primary Academy and contribute to the high educational standards at Glenleigh Park Primary Academy.

You will be a role model in leading the teaching team at Glenleigh Park Primary Academy to ensure all our pupils achieve their full potential by having responsibility for creating a learning culture, which enables pupils to become effective, enthusiastic and independent, life-long learners.  The role involves setting high expectations for teaching and learning, creating a culture that ensures effective teaching and learning and to evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching and learning on pupil outcomes.

Glenleigh Park is a school that can offer exceptional professional development opportunities, high levels of support and the chance to make a real difference to pupils’ outcomes. We work closely with other schools in our Trust and there are several opportunities to share ideas and learn from each other.

This is an exciting opportunity and the ideal next step in the career of an ambitious school leader. The successful candidate will be a key part of a great staff team and their professional judgement and expertise will be highly valued.

We are very interested to hear what you can bring to the role of Deputy Headteacher and provide you with the opportunity to find out more about Glenleigh Park and the opportunity to join us.

Visits to the school are welcomed. To arrange a visit, please contact glpaoffice@auroraacademies.org
