Harlow Council is looking to appoint an Apprentice Maintenance Surveyor to assist the Properties & Facilities Team in maintaining and improving the Council’s non-housing property portfolio by providing technical support. The Council currently own and manage approximately 400 commercial and community building across the district.
The role will include assisting in organising and managing day to day maintenance and repair works, procuring and managing major capital improvement projects from inception to completion, property inspections, production of technical reports, and insurance compliance and repair works.

Candidates must have excellent IT and communication skills, have an interest in the construction and building maintenance industry and be willing to learn new skills.
Candidates must also have a flexible approach to work and be willing to continue with their education attending college on a day release basis to achieve a minimum HNC in building construction (the cost of which will be funded by Harlow Council) and to possibly progress to a professional qualification in building surveying such as RICS or CIOB.
