Hackney Council is looking for someone to take a leading role in ensuring the effective management of our treasury, banking and pension functions. As Analytical Accountant, you will analyse performance across a range of specialist areas. You will help develop key strategies, taking into account all financial implications.

In this role, you will spend time undertaking high quality data analysis. Day to day, you will present this analysis in a format that is logical, comprehensive and understandable for a wide range of audiences. You will also compile detailed reports and contribute to our overall treasury, banking and pension management work.
You will be responsible for developing performance measurement tools to analyse the financial implications of strategies. You will also ensure that statutory and other returns are completed to a high standard. You will play an important part in our quarterly reporting process, working closely with other internal and external services.
To thrive in this role you should be self-motivated, able to manage competing workloads and remain level headed under pressure. Ideally, you will have interest in investments and how they might impact on treasury and pension functions. You will also have knowledge of local government banking function. A relevant accounting qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
