This department gives customers access to Council services via telephone, face-to-face and online channels. It's the window to the Council and we strive for greatness in everything we do. Whether it's a query about social care or bin collection, we expect our Customer Service Advisors to provide positive assistance in a clear, articulate, empathetic manner.
You will be required to answer incoming telephone enquiries with Service Level Agreements, resolve a range of queries, take customer payment or direct callers on to relevant departments - recording data onto our computer system as you work. The departmentis lively and busy with great peer-to-peer support. You'll gain experience in up to 12 service areas with the chance to specialise later and in return you'll be expected to help train less-experienced advisors.
A true multi-tasker, you must have excellent English language skills and considerable Customer Service experience, be it in a call centre, hospitality, retail or similar. As well as outstndin communcation skills, we require GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English, PC skills and ap aptitude for learning bespoke data systems and applying relevant policies and legislation.
Whilst the role is based predominantly in Watling House in Dunstable, there may be a need to travel and work from our other offices in Biggleswade, Flitwick, Leighton Buzzard, Sandy & Shefford from time to time.
