The Department is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Business Support Officer to join the Public Protection Service. We are transforming our services to be more efficient and business-like and need your support.
The post is offered on a full-time basis of 37 hours per week, 8.30-17.00 Monday to Thursday, 8.30-16.30 Friday.
Working under the day-to-day direction and line management of the Senior Administrator (Systems and Business), the post holder will be expected to carry out normal administrative duties associated with the Service in relation to Public Protection including licensing, food safety, environmental protection, and health and safety. You will support the Service to help ensure that the Council’s responsibilities in accordance with legislation, council policies, priorities and objectives are met. You will be expected to be a competent administrator with the necessary skills such as data-processing and inputting, producing statistical returns and producing letters and licences. A good customer-focused approach is essential.
Training is actively encouraged within the Council and the post holder will have the opportunity to attain additional qualifications. Sound experience or ability in administration or customer services is essential.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information and advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
