Adur and Worthing Councils are seeking an inspirational leader with a proven track record in transformation and change management to lead our vision for Housing Services across our Places. In recent months housing policy has been at the fore-front of national and local agendas, Adur and Worthing are no exceptions. As the Head of Housing you will have responsibility for all major operational functions, and working closely with the Director will develop and deliver a programme of transformation to ensure that we provide services and develop relationships that support our communities to be resilient going forward.
Key aspects of this role are:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the development and delivery of new homes both as part of the Housing Revenue Account (Adur District Council) and in partnership providers across the councils, to increase the supply of new homes of all tenure.
- Provide leadership for the full implementation of the Homelessness Reduction Action and initiatives to reduce rough sleeping. Develop in partnership innovative solutions to prevent homelessness, whilst supporting the most vulnerable, in order to improve lives
- Provide strategic oversight as the ‘Head of Adur Homes’ for all aspects of housing management, leaseholder management, tenant and leaseholder engagement as well as repairs and capital works.
- Systems leadership and partnership working to ensure we are able to maximise the collective resources of the Councils, our partners and other agencies in order to build strength and resilience across our communities and within the sector.
We are looking for a strong, experienced and bold leader to help us achieve our ambitions and take responsibility for delivering our housing services agenda. You will be passionate about people and about housing. You will have a demonstrable track record in housing supply delivery, transformation, service improvement and culture change.
