We are looking to recruit an Infant Feeding Support Worker who is innovative, resourceful and passionate about supporting women to breastfeed and who is enthusiastic to support their infant feeding choices.    

Your role in our journey


You will be working within the Infant Feeding Team as part of the Barnsley 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service to support and maintain our accredited UNICEF Baby Friendly Standards as well as provide excellent evidenced based support in infant feeding choices. You will have a varied and exciting role working in partnership with a range of services in Barnsley with opportunities of making a lasting, positive impact on people’s lives. 

What you’ll need

To join us, you will need to have a level 3 qualification and have the desire to provide Barnsley mothers with excellent care and support to achieve their breastfeeding goals. You will need excellent communication skills and be a team player. The successful candidate should possess knowledge of lactation, how breastfeeding works and the willingness to further develop themselves professionally including undertaking training and education to fulfil the duties of the role. Your ability to plan and prioritise your own workload and the ability to travel to a range of venues and settings is essential.  You need to be enthusiastic about working as part of a dedicated Infant Feeding team and resilient and able to work under indirect supervision.
