An opportunity has arisen within Development Management to recruit a Business Support Officer on a permanent basis. The post is offered on a full-time basis of 37 hours per week.

The post-holder will be expected to assist on site with the day-to-day functioning of this busy department assisting the team with various tasks, predominately related to Development Management, Building Control and Land Charges functions.  

To apply you must either have a minimum of 3 GCSE’s including Maths and English at Grade A* to C or equivalent or a relevant qualification e.g. Business Administration, Customer Service including literacy and numeracy at level 2 or will be able to demonstrate equivalent literacy and numeracy skills through work competences. You will also have thorough office experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook. You must have previous clerical experience and be able to deal effectively with customers. You must also have good written and verbal communications skills, be able to organise and prioritise your workload and work successfully as part of a team.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.

The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
