In the Kent Public Health Observatory, we are striving to become a centre of excellence for public health intelligence and knowledge management services. We’re looking for an experienced analytics professional who excels at working with others to answer complex questions with evidence-based insights. Kent County Council is committed to a hybrid working model. The Analytics team is currently based two days a week at our Maidstone offices.
As a senior analyst, you will be responsible for leading projects within our team from the planning stage to sharing results and explaining the findings. You will have a proactive attitude to problem solving and demonstrate calmness under pressure. Using your knowledge of epidemiology, statistics, and health-related datasets, you will ensure that projects are completed to a high standard and add value. In addition, you will be responsible for line management and supervising other members of the team, guiding their personal development.
We provide a comprehensive training offer and encourage a supportive learning environment to share knowledge between team members. At the same time, we need your help to innovate and improve. For example, the team is moving towards creating reproducible analysis using programming languages such as R and SQL and Power BI for data visualization.
If you are inquisitive, good at project management and building successful relationships in this field or a closely related one, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact the Head of Health Intelligence, Mark Chambers (firstname.lastname@example.org) to find out more before you apply.
Please note that while some homeworking is possible, you will be expected to work from our Maidstone office at least two days per week.
