You will also have the opportunity to work on some of the Council’s major projects. The Council has an exciting programme of regeneration projects such as Preston Barracks, the Waterfront and Circus Street which are changing the landscape of the city. Increasingly the Council is also changing the way it delivers services and the successful candidate is likely to have the opportunity to work on challenging complex projects such as the project to set up a charitable trust to run the Royal Pavilion.
Experience of contracts and procurement law is desirable. Excellent client care, communication skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to develop in the role are essential.
You will see a real impact in the city as a result of your work and benefit from our genuine commitment to on-going professional development. This is further enhanced by our developing partnership with the legal services of East Sussex County Council, West Sussex County Council, and Surrey County Council as Orbis Public Law.
We are keen to find the right person to fulfil this exciting role and are keen to encourage all applications. We will consider part-time and job share proposals. Flexible working is also available.
Please contact Isabella Sidoli, Senior Lawyer, on 01273 291513 or email@example.com or Alice Rowland, Head of Commercial Law, on 01273 291503 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to discuss this or anything else about the role.
Closing date for receiving applications is 14th September 2018.
Interview date to be confirmed.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community but particularly encourage applicants from a BAME or White Other background as well as those who identify as LGB, male or trans as these groups are currently under-represented in our Directorate workforce.
As part of Brighton & Hove City Council’s ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process, without prior notice if a suitable redeployee (internal employee at risk of redundancy) is identified.
